Judith Karman Hospice is funded through a variety of sources including Medicare, private insurance reimbursement, United Way contributions, receipts from Karman Korner and the generosity of our community. We take great pride in saying that, “No patient has ever received a bill from Judith Karman Hospice,” and plan always to be able to say so. For that to happen, we will continue to rely on your help. Every tax-deductible gift—no matter the size—helps us to continue our work to care for all terminally ill patients and their families who need us and to provide top quality end-of-life care.

Memorial Gifts
            What better way to remember someone special than with a gift to Judith Karman Hospice? A memorial gift to hospice is a meaningful way to honor the memory of someone who has died. Many families ask that, in lieu of funeral flowers, friends and family give to Judith Karman Hospice. Memorial donations can also be used to commemorate the birthday or anniversary of a loved one. These gifts ensure that each and every patient receives the same excellent care regardless of his or her financial status. All gifts are acknowledged with a thank you letter to both the giver and the family.

Honor Gifts
            A gift in honor of a special person is a delightful way to express your love and esteem for a significant person in your life. For the person who “has it all,” a donation to Judith Karman Hospice makes a great gift for a birthday, anniversary, graduation or other special event. The person honored by your contribution will receive a special card announcing your gift.

Planned Giving, Bequests and Life Insurance
            Many friends of Judith Karman Hospice who are unable to make substantial gifts during their lifetimes choose to recognize the agency once they are gone. This thoughtful, practical way of giving can be as simple as adding a paragraph to a will or naming JKH as a policy’s beneficiary. We encourage you to discuss your options with your tax and estate planning professionals. Should you decide to remember us in your will, we would like to hear from you now, so that we have the opportunity to thank you properly.

Securities
            It was a gift of stock that spurred the opening of Judith Karman Hospice’s Karman Korner Resale Shop in 1994. Who knows what your gift of stock or mutual fund shares can do? Not only do you realize tax benefits now, you also receive the satisfaction of helping the community’s only non-profit hospice. Please contact your broker and/or your tax professional for more information.

Designated Gifts
            Perhaps you have one special interest that you would like to support within the Judith Karman Hospice program. For example, you have been helped greatly by the bereavement program and would like to see its services expanded. Or, you know that the agency needs newer computers. You may designate your donation to be used specifically to meet that need.
